Automated Childhood Cancer Information System (ACCIS) is an on-going project funded in part by the European Commission and its aim lies in collection, presentation, interpretation and dissemination of data on childhood cancer in Europe. This project addresses the need of a specific approach to study of cancer in childhood, which differs in many aspects from cancer occuring in adults. The world's largest database of childhood and adolescent cancer patients permits calculation of incidence rates and survival by sex, period of incidence, age-group, tumour type and method of diagnosis.
